The Boodaville Association has been active for over 10 years with youth permaculture education projects and during the last 4 years we have brought the Rovira Regenerativa project to life: we are cultivating and sharing a regenerative food system in Spain - the Río Algars area, between Catalonia and Aragon. Our story is an example of how a dedicated team can do a lot with a little, and our big news in 2026 is that we are ready to grow and secure the future of the project. We have an active crowdfunding campaign until the 4th June 2026, to share what we are doing, share our regenerative products - including our natural wine from the 2025 harvest-  and meet our funding goals for the next steps.

What we are building in Vall Rovira and Caseres is much more than a farm. It is a living system with the potential to regenerate the soil and the water cycle, produce healthier food, activate a local and international community, offer experiences that transform the way people live, and inspire other projects to do the same.

The project emerged from the work of the Boodaville Association and from the desire to apply permaculture on a larger scale in Vall Rovira, creating and sharing a farm of the future. Today, we are five people coordinating an active network of collaborators in the region, together with an international community that continues to grow around this vision.

I particularly love our catchphrase "Everything we do is better when it is shared", as a teacher in formal and non-formal education all my life, and as a permaculture student from 2011 onwards I am passionate about sharing good ideas and inspiring people by working together on real ecological projects. We have shared every step of the Boodaville journey for many years, and with the crowdfunder we are inviting anyone and everyone to join us; contributions range from tiny amounts to enormous donations and our experience with the first weeks of the campaign is a positive feedback loop where supporters feel great about connecting with us, (and hopefully many will visit us in the future!) and of course our energies and motivation are lifted by getting closer to our holistic goals.

A farm that restores.

The vineyard is currently under a land-use agreement with the Boodaville Association, and since 2023 we have been implementing an agroforestry design across 8 hectares of vineyards, forest, and almond trees in a semi-arid Mediterranean climate. By combining trees and crops, improving soil health, and adapting through careful observation, we work alongside local farmers and experts in regenerative agriculture to restore the land step by step.

More than 1000 young trees have already been introduced into the system, enriching the soil with manure from neighbors’ chemical-free Spanish Mustang horses, biochar produced directly on the farm, and wild seed mixes designed by ecologists. From this land we already produce grapes, olives, figs, and herbs, with plans to expand into nuts, berries, perennial vegetables, and eggs in the years ahead.

After two harvests, we have produced 1000 bottles of natural wine together with a local winemaker, and we are now ready to evolve this production even further in the coming years.

Inspiring our visitors

More than 1500 people from 30 countries have already participated in Boodaville’s activities, all designed to inspire new ways of thinking and living. Alongside permaculture courses and volunteering programs, we have spent the last two years organizing “Regenerative Weekends” — practical learning experiences where visitors work alongside us, learn from external facilitators, and build meaningful connections within our wider social network dedicated to permaculture and regeneration. These weekends have also become an important source of income for the project, while giving people the opportunity to directly experience regenerative living.

Connection and opportunities for local people

Responding to the challenges of supporting eco-social transition at a municipal level and encouraging repopulation in this rural area, we have designed a public space next to the Algars River in Caseres. This space will serve several functions: a community garden of native plants that acts as both a seed bank and educational area, a plant and tree nursery for agroforestry systems, and a small shop for local products. Together, these elements create new opportunities for local people while strengthening the connection between regeneration, community, and place.

We have several weekend events in the calendar for 2026 (for example August 21-23, October 23-25) and youth opportunities for volunteering and exchanges (The UK will rejoin the EU program in 2027 so we look forward to partnering again!). You can see these on our opportunities page. We are also very active on Instagram this year as the easiest place to share video updates!

Most importantly the GOTEO campaign is live until 4th June 2026!
