After ten months incubating the rebirth and re-energisation of Transition training and learning opportunities, listening to the movement and harvesting your voices in this research, the Training for Transition Circle would like to share an invitation with Trainers, Facilitators and Transition Hubs.

As some first steps towards developing a lively community of practice for trainers/facilitators, we will be holding a series of 6 webinars in late January to early April. These will showcase successful models and case studies of training/learning opportunities from around the global movement.

We recognise that these dates and times may not suit all groups or time zones and we apologise for this. The proposed times reflect the availability of the hosts and likely case study presenters. For those of you in other timezones, or who would prefer to hold a discussion on these topics in your own language, we can provide a recording of the case study presentations, and/or possibly subtitles or a translated transcription if needed. You can use this to host your own discussion around the topic. We would love to hear your feedback if you choose this route.

Collaborating

We know that many of you would like to have better connections with each other and be more easily able to share your experiences, challenges and solutions. Transition Hubs, Transition Network and members of other Transition movement circles, including the Training for Transition Circle, are co-developing an online collaborative platform where we expect trainers/facilitators will have an area for creating and engaging in an ongoing community of practice. We hope this will be a place to share ideas, news, and offers for course outlines, helpful materials & resources, webinars and professional development opportunities.  It may also support professional learning journeys and peer mentoring to help more people become a transition trainer/facilitator. It will take some time to become available, however we wanted to let you know that this project was under development.

Who is a Transition trainer and what is Transition training?

The Training for Transition Circle are working on new guideline documents which help to answer the questions ‘Who is a Transition trainer/facilitator?’ and ‘What is a Transition training/learning opportunity?’. Our aim, based on input from the movement, is to outline and support a more flexible, inclusive and accessible approach than the previous certification routes for Transition trainers. In addition, we are creating guidelines that will support and empower trainers/facilitators to develop, evolve and iterate training/ learning opportunities, which are more flexible and appropriate to different contexts and groups, while still within some broadly agreed principles and parameters. We will be sharing those draft documents with you in early 2021 for your input.

We look forward to supporting and amplifying your work!

We’ll share full details of how to book onto the webinars in the new year.

You can use this tool to convert to the time zone in your region – https://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/
