There are well over 100 projects already on the [projects directory](https://news.transitionnetwork.org/projects/) on this site. They make an excellent resource for dipping into when you want to get some new practical ideas.

One caught my eye recently – from [Hobsons Bay](https://news.transitionnetwork.org/initiatives/hobsons-bay) in Australia – which involves people coming together to swap surplus produce. It’s so simple, and yet works on many different levels. Check out Newport Fruit and Vegie Swap for yourselves – the “unexpected outcomes” make interesting reading. That deep desire to connect with like-minded local people is again at the heart of the affair.

Looks like it’s catching on downunder because there’s another similar project in Henley in Oz – and that one too is very [nicely written up](https://news.transitionnetwork.org/projects/henley-fruit-veg-swap) indeed.
