Planting seeds for abundance
The results from the Seed Funding campaign 2025-2026
the results from the Seed Funding campaign
For quite some time, our team at Transition Network international has recognized how important seed funding and grant distribution are for the movement - we heard so many fantastic stories about how even a small amount of money can make a huge difference on the ground.
THIS IS IT! This year, we prioritised the exploration of launching Seed Funding, designing the needed processes using shared governance, and providing grants that support the work of Transition Territories, Hubs and local groups.
This is not the first time Transition Network International has organised the distribution of seed funding — we run rounds of seed-funding for Transition Hubs for 6 years - from 2014 to 2020, as well as a UK focused seed-funding in 2024. However, this year it is the first time we launched this kind of grant to local groups at international level.
This year, the total amount available for seed funding was smaller than in previous cycles (£15,000 for local groups and £15,000 for Hubs). It was a conscious decision to do it anyway, believing that this is just the beginning of reinstating international grants, and we are actively working toward greater abundance in the future.
We have news: The call for applications closed in December 2025, and the decision-making team in TNi made a decision by the end of January 2026. And what a challenging and beautiful decision it was - It has been wonderful to continue to see the Transition Movement dreaming of new projects, energising our transition community, and it was so difficult not to grant the requested funds to all of them.
This round, we received:
- 52 applications from local groups from all over the world
- 18 applications from Transition Hubs and Territories
See below - I am sharing with you the successful applicants, celebrating them all!

We truly hope this is just the beginning! Now, there is a space where you can be an active part of this beautiful community - where we can support and care for one another, and where we can all inspire and be inspired by the stories of these and other groups from all over the world, contributing for the change we need. So, I invite you to stay connected with other Transition groups, Hubs and TN through our Community Waves platform and other shared spaces.
