What is the significance of localism for global change? Is this what the Transition Network is trying to do?

This post on my [EarthConnected website](http://earthconnected.net/?ref=news.transitionnetwork.org) was stimulated by [a review of this book by Michael Ware](http://climateandcapitalism.com/2013/04/02/why-small-scale-alternatives-wont-change-the-world/?utm%5Fsource=feedburner&utm%5Fmedium=feed&utm%5Fcampaign=Feed%3A+climateandcapitalism%2FpEtD+%28Climate+and+Capitalism%29), on a website called [Climate & Capitalism.](http://climateandcapitalism.com/?ref=news.transitionnetwork.org) It raises interesting points with which I both agree and disagree. No local: Why Small-Scale Alternatives Won’t Change the World, by Greg Sharzer, Zero Books, 2012.
