June 2025: Holding Each Other Close in Challenging Times
Open in browser to see the whole content. Transition Newsletter: this one is fully packed with opportunities and fresh news from the movement!
In Transition, we know how to imagine, play, and create – skills that are vital for building kinder, more vibrant futures. Yet right now, holding space for joy and possibility can feel heavy, too. For communities facing relentless violence and injustice –from Gaza to Congo, the whole Abya Yala and beyond– the weight is unimaginable. And for all of us, the constant drumbeat of news about human, animal and planetary suffering can make hope feel like a radical act.
But this is precisely why we keep showing up.
Across our network, we’re weaving alliances stronger than ever: seeding the Living Systems Alliance with The Biomimicry Institute, The Permaculture Association, Global Ecovillage Network and Kincentric Leadership; collaborating with Ecolise on Slow Comms; reimagining the Transition Platform with aligned organisations, and celebrating our team’s spot in Culture Hack Labs’ Rhizome Fellowship to hack oppressive narratives together. These are not just projects, they’re lifelines. In fractured times, we choose to lift each other up, to plant seeds of care even when the soil feels rocky.
Transition is about community and solidarity. It’s remembering that every small act of connection, from a shared meal to a bold campaign, stitches the fabric of a world where no one is left behind.
In gratitude and fierce active hope,
The Transition Network international team 🌱
