January 2026: Finding Healthy Rhythms
In this issue: finding healthy rhythms, festivals and happenings, People of Transition, Staying with Feelings zine, training opportunities and more!
What are healthy rhythms for making change within ourselves, our teams, and the wider systems we’re part of? This question has been alive within the TNI team over the past year, both individually and collectively. We’ve taken steps toward healthier ways of working together by holding regular team wellbeing meetings, creating informal spaces for peer connection, experimenting with a Reading and Learning week, and continuing to cultivate a culture where people feel safe to offer honest feedback and ask for support. We are not perfect, rather, we are a work in progress. As we move into 2026, we remain committed to learning our way toward more sustainable team rhythms.
In a recent check-in, team members also shared how they’re exploring healthier rhythms in their personal lives: eating more nourishing food, returning to slower forms of learning through magazines and regular reading, setting boundaries around email, moving their bodies more, and consuming less bombastic media. Working closely together, we can clearly see how intertwined the personal and the collective truly are. Our small team is a microcosm of wider change, and this lived experience echoes what Jill Kubit’s research highlights, that individual actions influence others and help create the conditions for broader social and political transformation.
Are there any healthy rhythms you are stepping into this year? We would love to hear. If you feel inspired, feel free to share on Community Waves!
With love,
The Transition Network international team 🌱
