Abya Yala in Transition invites you to take part in a series of conversations that will share the voices of, and shine a light on, many diverse stories of grassroots activism happening across Latin America.
These online conversations have been co-designed by a collective brought together by Transition groups from many countries across Latin America, working together in three languages.

The group hopes that each event will inspire people from across the globe to act positively at all levels to face the challenges of community and ecosystem destruction. In Latin America right now, we are witnessing profound changes, but also amazing new solutions emerging from diverse indigenous communities across the continent.
In recognition of this indigenous wisdom the group have revived the name, Abya Yala, which is the original name given to the Latin American continent, and invites everyone to join the party!
Abya Yala has so much to offer and share with the world. Enormous cultural and ecological diversity, the voices of wise ancestral communities, and a multitude of both rural and urban communities making their vision of regeneration a reality. From the damage done through abuses of power and colonisation, these communities are making themselves seen and heard anew.
The 7 conversations will take place from 6th July – 21st September. Each event will take place at the same time on each date, and are free to attend. They will be run with simultaneous translation in three languages – Spanish, Portuguese and English.
